Um, hi, Mayfield. I know things have been pretty bad recently, but I hope everyone's doing okay. I'm sorry I haven't been checking in on anyone!

[ Any cheeriness she had fostering fades as she continues. ]

With the way death is in this place, I guess I shouldn't be scared of it, but I still sort of am. Especially when I've already done it once. Hehe, um, at least this time I don't think it's going to hurt so badly.

So I guess I'll be able to talk to everyone tomorrow! I wonder if my police chief application had been better, maybe this wouldn't have happened. ...oh well.

I could have been! [ There's a brief return to her usual cheerfulness, but it fades pretty quickly. ]

It wasn't last time, but now I think it will be. So at least there's that.

I would recommend suicide if you believe it would take too long, but that isn't a very human way of processing things. Death is mysterious and frightening.

Oh, um... [ That might have been useful when she was facing down the slow, agonizing death, but it's just so creepy. ] Yeah, humans sort of have an aversion to that, even if they're already dying.

As do most sentient creatures. I give you my condolences, however short and few they may be. A young lady shouldn't have to suffer the pains of a death she is not deserving of.

I would say yes, but that is irrelevant in the long run. Cooperation is necessary, even if you are all self-sacrificial martyrs for one another.
